Stream of Consciousness

November 18, 2018

Short post today and without any pictures, I know it’s a travesty! (Ok, I added a couple cute puppy photos.) But, I’m going to try something a little different this week.

Guys, it’s almost the holiday season and I am so ready for it. Come at me haters because the holidays start the day after Thanksgiving. Don’t worry, I give Thanksgiving it’s time. But this year it’s been kinda hard to wait and commercials pushing Christmas are not helping. This year I finally got ahead of the game and started planning gifts early. I like to make a lot of my gifts, so normally I kinda cram them into the few weeks I have before Christmas and it usually ends up stressing me out. I have started making some and I can tell that it’s relieving so much stress already. I’m not going to share what I’m making, since I don’t want to spoil the surprise for anyone, but maybe I’ll make a post after I have given them away.

I’ve always loved Christmas; it’s my favorite holiday. I think it has to do with the fact that it lasts a month. And I do get sad when it’s over.

Last year was different though. Last year was the first year without my grandma, so it didn’t feel the same. I almost felt like Christmas didn’t happen. I tried to get into the spirit, but I just couldn’t do it to my normal caliber. Don’t get me wrong; we tried to make things as normal as possible. We kept up the traditions, baked cookies, decorated, but it just wasn’t the same. Now, I’m not complaining. Absolutely not. I’m just sharing my experience and I’m sure I’m not the only one who has felt this way. I think it helps explain why I feel like my holiday spirit is heighted this year because it was virtually nonexistent last year. But I am so ready. I want to get really into it and do as much as I can. It’ll be a little tough with school, but I accept the challenge. I plan on, hopefully, doing some holiday themed blog posts so be on the lookout.

So, what did you think of this post? It was kinda like a stream of consciousness and if you guys are into it, I might make it into a sort of “series.” I’ll just randomly write about something that’s on my mind. This one was a bit short, but I’m sure others will be longer. I just wanted to share how excited I am for the holidays!
