It's been about one month since I started my rebranding process and things are going well. A lot of behind the scenes things, business and technical, are being accomplished. I have started a couple business classes. Things are looking good. So far I have almost filled three notebooks full of information, planning, and notes. It's a little insane.
As for posting more often... that is still a work in progress. I have been coming up with ideas for future blog posts, so when I have some free time I'll hopefully write out a couple. I am posting more on my Instagram and I've gotten into using the stories feature, which is fun. If you have been following me, you may have noticed that it looks a little different over there. I've updated my bio and my profile photo and I changed my name! I'm am no longer at the long, clunky handle of kira.heintz.photography. My new handle is kiraheintzphoto. The reason I changed it was so it matched all my other social media accounts and because it looks cleaner. (Shameless plug for my Instagram here.)
On to how everything is looking. Literally. I created a mood board on Pinterest for my logo, website design, and the overall feel that I want my brand to have.
Here's a little peek at it:
You can take a look at the whole thing over on my Pinterest page. I like to post other things like my travel photos, nature photos, and a couple different aesthetic photos on there as well. (Ok, shameless plug #2 is over.)
My new logo is still a work in progress, but I'm pretty sure I know the basic look I want to go with. I drew way too many designs and of course, the first ones are the ones I like the most. It always seems to work out that way. Before I can actually make it though, I want to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator. This way I can do all current and future designing myself. (I'm all about dyi-ing.)
My website is coming along great and I'm loving how it's turning out. It has a totally different look and feel than it did before and that's exactly what I want. Don't worry, I have a couple previews for you. A lot of the photos I currently have up are just placeholders, to give me an idea of the kind of picture I want to go in that spot. The pictures themselves are great, they just don't fit with the look I'm going for. I plan on doing multiple photoshoots to update my portfolio and use for my website.
So what's next in this process?
Well, it's a little frustrating, but I'm kind of in a waiting phase. I've got to finish the business classes, learn Illustrator, and plan photoshoots. Then I can start getting even more serious about the business aspect of things. And I can start really creating my logo and getting my website finalized.
That's all I've got for you right now. I'm not going to go in depth with the technical aspect of things because that can get kind of boring. But, if you are interested and want to hear more about it, I will gladly make another post talking about what I'm doing.
Overall, I'm excited that things are getting started and that I'm making a lot of progress.
Ok, so I have one more plug for you. As I said, I'm looking to update my portfolio. That means I am looking for anyone who wants to be my subject/model for a couple hours. I'm looking for seniors (or anyone who wants to fake being a senior), couples, families, and families with newborns. Anyone who helps me with this project will get free/majorly discounted photos, depending on the type of session. It's a win-win! Just send me an email if you're interested or have any questions about the process. And if you know someone who would be interested, let them know. I hope to hear from you soon!
